Rigid Cystoscopy

A rigid cystoscopy is a procedure where the inside of the urinary bladder is visualized using a telescope (cystoscope). The procedure is done in hospital under a general anaesthetic. It is considered a minor procedure and is completed as a day surgery procedure. Instruments can be inserted through the cystoscope to allow for such things as bladder biopsies and insertion of ureteric stents.
