A retrograde pyelogram is a type of x-ray that involves injecting a contrast dye up the ureter (the tube that takes urine from the kidney to the bladder). The dye is injected through a catheter that is passed in to the ureter via the cystoscope. A series of x-rays are done to outline the anatomy of the ureter and internal lining of the kidney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The procedure is done in hospital under a general anaesthetic. It is considered a minor procedure and is completed as a day surgery procedure.
