Foreskin conditions that may be treated by circumcision include: lichen sclerosis (chronic inflammatory condition of the foreskin), phimosis (inability to retract the foreskin), para-phimosis (inability to return a retracted foreskin to its normal position) and penile cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The procedure is usually performed under general anaesthetic but in some circumstances may be done under local anaesthetic only.
